Project overview
We are proud to share that we successfully delivered 2 Siemens Transformers to SE Cerro Navia, each with a length of 7.2 meters, a width of 3.45 meters, a height of 4.00 meters, and a weight of 108 tons.
The cargo arrived on a RoRo vessel over mafi trailers, then was transported all the way from San Antonio to SE Cerro Navia. The transport time was 2 days given the cargo only could be transported by night. Finally, the transformers were discharged onto the foundation by skidding and jacking system.
Mafi Unloading Challenge:
– Given that each transformer weighed 108 tons, the port could not carry out the unloading maneuver. For this reason, it was arranged for three (3) mobile cranes to work in tandem.
Discharge Challenges:
– Due to the location of the foundations and the narrow spaces and turns, the transport equipment could not reach the foundations. Therefore, a solution had to be found; transferring the transformer to a self-propelled SPT with six (6) axle lines for transport along the internal road.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Siemens for their trust in us. This project highlights Tecniproject’s ability to find the right solution for each project and execute complex tasks. Thank you for choosing us as your trusted partner!
